Presidents of War: The Epic Story from 1807 to Modern Times, by Michael Beschloss
Those of us who are regular viewers (or, podcast listeners, in my case) of “The Rachel Maddow Show” are well-acquainted with Michael Beschloss, NBC News presidential historian.
Here in our house, we have our very own presidential historian — The Husband, who studied the American presidency in graduate school and who is an avid reader of nonfiction, all history-related.
Like yours truly, The Husband reviews the occasional book for Shelf Awareness. In today’s Readers issue, he shares his thoughts on Beschloss’s new book, which examines how eight presidents approached the prospect of war.
You can read his review of Presidents of War here.
